Alan, 8 years old

“I wish to meet Ronaldinho“

Alan is a keen football fan and loves Ronaldinho. Make-A-Wish organised for Alan, his little sister Soraya and mum and dad to fly off to Barcelona to visit the team of the FC Barcelona.

As the family had a few days in this exciting Spanish town, they went off to spend time at the Aquarium where scary sharks drifted above their heads and the family were mesmerized by all the variety of exotic fish.  A little shopping was on the books and a moment to play in a games arcade and best of all enjoy all the local delicacies such as scrumptious tapas.

Saturday was the big day when Alan and his family went off to Neu Camp where the FC Barcelona trains.  Sadly that day Ronaldinho was ill and did not appear among the players. A disappointment but Alan being a positive little chap made sure he had his picture taken with all the other players and got their autographs as well. A tour of the FC Barcelona Museum followed along with a very successful shop to buy FC Barcelona gear such as a splendid orange bathrobe with a hood with FC Barcelona written on the back.

Sunday was the day of the game. The Spanish team played well but only scored at the last minute which made the whole event a nail-biting one but Alan was super pleased his team had won and that he had been watching the game in the home stadium.

In true Spanish style the family ended their trip with a walk up and down the famed Ramblas having a great time meeting the "living statues" - mimes who made Alan and Soraya giggle with great pleasure.

Alan brought back from these few days in Barcelona warm and special souvenirs to remind him of his fun trip to the FC Barcelona. He and his family put together a wonderful story-book of photos and text to thank Make-A-Wish and the team here was very touched by this thoughtfulness.
